# Acceptable use policy

This Acceptable Use Policy is issued by HostCupid Web Solutions Private Limited, trading as HostCupid. It protects customers, visitors, networks, mail reputation and HostCupid infrastructure from unlawful, abusive, insecure or resource-disruptive use.

**Account holder responsibility**

- Use services only for lawful, authorised purposes.
- Keep applications, credentials and customer accounts secure.
- Do not send spam, distribute malware or attack other systems.
- Stay within plan and fair-use limits.
- Resellers are responsible for customers created under their account.

## 1. Illegal, deceptive and harmful activity

Services must not be used to create, store, transmit, advertise or facilitate unlawful content or conduct. Prohibited activity includes fraud, phishing, impersonation, credential theft, extortion, trafficking, unlawful gambling, threats, harassment, exploitation, child sexual abuse material, unlawful intimate content, infringement and sale of prohibited or unlawfully regulated goods or services.

Content that is lawful in one location may still be restricted where it creates a material legal, infrastructure, supplier or safety risk for HostCupid.

## 2. Spam, email and deceptive messaging

Unsolicited bulk email or messaging, purchased or harvested recipient lists, mail bombing, spoofing, misleading headers, deceptive sender identity, open relays and systems primarily intended to facilitate spam are prohibited.

Customers must maintain consent records where required, honour opt-outs, authenticate domains where appropriate and keep complaint and bounce rates within responsible limits. HostCupid may restrict outbound mail immediately to protect shared reputation.

## 3. Malware, attack and unauthorised access

Malware distribution, botnet activity, credential attacks, vulnerability exploitation, denial-of-service activity, port scanning without permission, unauthorised access, command-and-control systems, cryptomining and deliberate bypass of security controls are prohibited.

Security research or testing is allowed only with prior written authorisation covering the exact target, method and time.

## 4. Intellectual property and unlawful copying

Customers must have the right to use software, themes, plugins, fonts, media, trademarks and other content stored or distributed through the service. HostCupid may act on a sufficiently detailed infringement notice and may request ownership or licence evidence.

## 5. Resource use and platform integrity

Accounts must remain within the selected plan's published and technical limits. Shared services must not be used in a way that materially impairs other customers or infrastructure.

- “Unlimited” storage or bandwidth is for suitable website workloads, not unrestricted file warehousing.
- Backup-only storage, public file distribution, media streaming, proxies, VPN exit nodes, scraping farms and persistent high-load tasks require written approval or a suitable service.
- CPU, memory, processes, databases, inodes, mail and concurrent connections remain limited.
- Customers must remove abandoned files, vulnerable software and unnecessary accounts when asked.

## 6. Vulnerable or compromised software

Customers must keep supported software and credentials reasonably secure. If a website or account is compromised, the customer must cooperate with containment, password rotation, update, cleanup or migration. HostCupid may isolate affected data, disable scripts or restrict access before a full investigation is complete.

## 7. Prohibited automation and interference

Automation that circumvents rate limits, creates abusive traffic, manipulates reviews or search results, scrapes contrary to permission, sends unwanted messages or interferes with another service is prohibited. Customers must comply with external platform and API terms.

## 8. Reseller and downstream-customer responsibility

A reseller is responsible for every customer and account created under its service. Resellers must maintain accurate contact routes, investigate reports, enforce standards no less protective than this policy and act promptly on HostCupid instructions.

HostCupid may suspend a subordinate account, a reseller or the wider hierarchy when isolation is not technically possible, the reseller fails to act, or the activity creates ongoing risk.

## 9. Reporting suspected abuse

Send reports to info@hostcupid.com with the affected hostname, URL, IP address, timestamps, evidence and a safe contact route. Do not send malware as an ordinary attachment. HostCupid may request additional information and will handle reports according to severity, law and infrastructure safety.

## 10. Investigation and enforcement

HostCupid may investigate logs and account information reasonably necessary to verify abuse, security, performance or legal risk. Depending on severity, HostCupid may warn, rate-limit, quarantine, disable a feature, remove malicious content, suspend, terminate or preserve information for lawful requests.

Immediate action may be taken without advance notice where delay could worsen harm. Fees are not refundable when suspension or termination results from abuse, fraud, chargeback or material breach. Restoration is not guaranteed and may require cleanup, verification and separate payment.

## 11. Appeal and correction

A customer may reply to the relevant ticket with evidence that the activity was authorised, corrected or misidentified. HostCupid will review the information reasonably, but may keep protective controls in place while risk remains. Repeated or deliberate violations may result in permanent termination.
