- Log in to SiteWorx, for example at
www.example.com:2443/siteworx/. - Under SiteWorx, open Hosting Features if it is not already open, then select Softaculous.
- In Softaculous, open Portal/CMS in the left menu and select Joomla.
- Select Install.
- Under Software Setup, configure the installation:
- Choose the version you want to install: Leave the default version selected unless you need a different one.
- Choose Protocol: Select the protocol you want to use. Leave the default if it is appropriate for your site.
- Choose Domain: Select the domain for Joomla. If you have only one domain, leave the default selection.
- In Directory: Enter a directory name to install Joomla at a path such as
example.com/directory. Leave this blank to install it at the domain root.
- Under Site Settings, enter a site name and, optionally, a site description or slogan.
- Under Database Settings, review the sample-data option and leave it at its default unless you want to change it.
- Under Admin Account, enter an administrator username, a strong password, your name, and your email address. Avoid easily guessed usernames such as
adminoradministrator.Save the administrator username and password securely; you will need them to sign in to Joomla.
- Choose the language for Joomla. English is the default.
- Review Advanced Options. Leave the defaults unless you want to change the database name or backup settings. Backups can use disk space.
- Scroll to the bottom of the page and select Install.
