You can restart your VPS from SolusVM or through an SSH command. A command-line restart allows the operating system to shut down processes before rebooting.
Restart your VPS in SolusVM
- Log in to your SolusVM control panel.
- If you have multiple VPS instances, select the one you want to restart.
- Scroll down and click Reboot.
- When the confirmation window appears, click Yes.
The reboot may take a few minutes. SolusVM will display a message when the VPS has restarted.
Restart your VPS through SSH
- Connect to your VPS using an SSH client.
- Run this command:
shutdown -r now
If the VPS does not come back online after 5–10 minutes, use the Reboot option in SolusVM. This initiates a reboot through the control panel.
