An A record points a domain or subdomain to an IPv4 address. You can add one in cPanel’s Zone Editor.
- Log in to cPanel, for example at
example.com/cpanel. - In the Domains section, click Zone Editor.
Find the domain you want to update. The available record actions appear beside it.
- Click A Record. In the window that opens, enter the record details:
- Name: Enter the domain or subdomain name, such as
blog. cPanel may append the domain, creatingblog.example.com. - Address: Enter the IPv4 address the name should point to.
- Name: Enter the domain or subdomain name, such as
- Save or add the record.
A success message indicates that the record was added. DNS changes may take time to appear across the internet; propagation can take up to 24 hours.
