A CNAME record points an alias, such as www, to a canonical domain name.

  1. Log in to cPanel.
  2. In the Domains section, open Zone Editor.
  3. Find the domain you want to edit. Under Actions, choose CNAME Record.
  4. In the form that opens, enter the record details:
    • Name: Enter the alias, such as www. cPanel may append the domain name automatically.
    • CNAME: Enter the canonical domain name that the alias should point to.

  5. Click Add a CNAME Record. cPanel should display a success message if the record is added.

DNS changes may take time to become visible across the internet.
