How to Enable Spam Filtering in cPanel

21,663 genuine article views Mail Filters & SPAM

cPanel provides spam filtering controls that analyse incoming messages and assign a spam score.

  1. Log in to your cPanel account.
  2. Open the Email section and select Spam Filters.
  3. Enable spam filtering if it is not already active.
  4. Review the spam threshold score. A lower threshold applies stricter filtering, while a higher threshold is less aggressive.
  5. Configure the available options for handling messages identified as spam.

Important: spam scoring does not always mean that a message will automatically be deleted. Review the available handling and deletion options before enabling aggressive filtering.

Older cPanel versions may refer to the underlying filtering technology as Apache SpamAssassin.
