- Log in to your cPanel account.
- In the Software section, click Softaculous App Installer.
- In Softaculous, open the Forums category and select MyBB.
- Click Install.
- Under Software Setup, configure the installation:
- Choose Protocol: Select the protocol you want to use. You can leave the default selection if it is appropriate for your site.
- Choose Domain: Select the domain for the forum. If you have only one domain, leave the default selection.
- In Directory: Enter a directory name to install the forum in a subdirectory, such as
forumsforexample.com/forums. Leave this field blank to install it at the domain root.
- Under Board Settings, enter the site name, board name, and board email address.
- Under Admin Account, enter an administrator username, a strong password, and an email address. Avoid predictable usernames such as “Admin” or “Administrator.” Save the login details securely; you will need them to access the MyBB administration area.
- Under Choose Language, select the forum’s default language. English is the default option.
- Review Advanced Options. Leave the settings unchanged unless you want to adjust options such as the database name or automated backups. Frequent backups may use additional disk space.
- Scroll to the bottom of the page and click Install.
