  1. Log in to your cPanel account.
  2. Under Software, click Softaculous App Installer.
  3. In Softaculous, open the Portal/CMS category on the left and select XOOPS.
  4. Click Install.
  5. Complete the Software Setup fields:
    • Choose Protocol: Select the protocol you want to use, or leave the default selection.
    • Choose Domain: Select the domain for the installation. If you have only one domain, leave the default selection.
    • In Directory: Enter a directory name to install XOOPS in a subdirectory, such as example.com/directory. Leave this blank to install it at the domain root.
    • Data Directory: Leave the default value unless you have a specific reason to change it.
  6. Under Site Settings, enter a Site Name and Site Description.
  7. Under Admin Account, provide an admin username, a strong password, your real name (or leave the default), and your email address. Avoid common usernames such as “admin” or “administrator.” Save the username and password securely; you will need them to access the XOOPS administration area.
  8. Review Advanced Options. Leave the defaults unless you want to change the database name or configure automated backups. Backups can use additional disk space.
  9. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click Install.
