- Log in to your cPanel account.
- Under Software, click Softaculous App Installer.
- In Softaculous, open the Portal/CMS category on the left and select XOOPS.
- Click Install.
- Complete the Software Setup fields:
- Choose Protocol: Select the protocol you want to use, or leave the default selection.
- Choose Domain: Select the domain for the installation. If you have only one domain, leave the default selection.
- In Directory: Enter a directory name to install XOOPS in a subdirectory, such as
example.com/directory. Leave this blank to install it at the domain root. - Data Directory: Leave the default value unless you have a specific reason to change it.
- Under Site Settings, enter a Site Name and Site Description.
- Under Admin Account, provide an admin username, a strong password, your real name (or leave the default), and your email address. Avoid common usernames such as “admin” or “administrator.” Save the username and password securely; you will need them to access the XOOPS administration area.
- Review Advanced Options. Leave the defaults unless you want to change the database name or configure automated backups. Backups can use additional disk space.
- Scroll to the bottom of the page and click Install.
