  1. Log in to your cPanel account.
  2. Under Software, click Softaculous App Installer.
  3. In Softaculous, open the Portal/CMS category and select Zikula.
  4. Click Install.
  5. Under Software Setup, configure the installation:
    • Choose Protocol: Select the protocol you want to use. Leave the default selection if it is appropriate for your site.
    • Choose Domain: Select the domain for the installation. If you have only one domain, keep the default selection.
    • In Directory: Enter a directory name to install Zikula in a subdirectory, such as example.com/directory. Leave this field blank to install it at the domain’s root.
  6. Under Admin Account, enter an administrator username, a strong password, and your email address. Avoid generic usernames such as admin or administrator.

Save the username and password securely; you will need them to access the Zikula administration area.

  7. Review Advanced Options. Leave the defaults unless you want to change the database name or configure automated backups. Backups use disk space.
  8. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click Install.
