  1. Log in to your cPanel account.
  2. Under Software, click Softaculous App Installer.
  3. In Softaculous, open the Portal/CMS category and select Geeklog.
  4. Click Install.
  5. Under Software Setup, configure the installation:
    • Choose Protocol: Select the protocol you want to use. Leave the default if it is appropriate for your site.
    • Choose Domain: Select the domain for the installation.
    • In Directory: Enter a directory name to install Geeklog in a subdirectory, such as example.com/directory. Leave this blank to install at the domain’s root.
    • Data Directory: Leave the default unless you need to change it.
  6. Under Site Settings, enter a site name and description.
  7. Under Admin Account, enter an administrator username, a strong password, and your email address. Avoid common usernames such as “Administrator” or “Admin.” Save these login details securely; you will need them to access the Geeklog administration area.
  8. Under Choose Language, select the administration language. English is the default.
  9. Review Advanced Options. You can leave the defaults or change the database name and automated backup settings. Backups use disk space.
  10. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click Install.
