How to Install ProcessWire with Softaculous in cPanel

  1. Log in to your cPanel account.
  2. In the Software section, click Softaculous App Installer.
  3. In Softaculous, open the Portal/CMS category and select ProcessWire.
  4. Click Install.
  5. Under Software Setup, configure the installation:
    • Choose Protocol: Select the protocol you want to use. Leave the default if it is appropriate for your site.
    • Choose Domain: Select the domain for the installation. If you have only one domain, keep the selected value.
    • In Directory: Enter a directory name to install ProcessWire in a subdirectory, such as directory for example.com/directory. Leave this blank to install at the domain’s root.
  6. Under Site Settings, enter a Site Name and Site Description.
  7. Under Admin Account, enter an admin username, a strong password, and your email address. Avoid common usernames such as “admin” or “administrator.”

    Keep the username and password somewhere secure; you will need them to sign in to the ProcessWire admin area.

  8. Review Advanced Options. Leave the defaults unless you want to change options such as the database name or automated backups. Backups use disk space.
  9. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click Install.
