This guide covers installing Webmin on a CentOS 7 server and accessing its web interface.
Requirements
- A CentOS 7 VPS or server.
- SSH access with root privileges.
Install Webmin
Connect to the server over SSH, then run:
yum install wget -y wget http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/webadmin/webmin-1.860-1.noarch.rpm yum -y install perl perl-Net-SSLeay openssl perl-IO-Tty perl-Encode-Detect rpm -U webmin-1.860-1.noarch.rpmWhen installation finishes, note the Webmin URL shown in the terminal.
Open the URL in a browser, replacing
SERVER_IPwith your server’s IP address:https://SERVER_IP:10000
If the page does not load and firewalld is enabled, allow TCP port 10000 and reload the firewall:
firewall-cmd --zone=public --add-port=10000/tcp --permanent
firewall-cmd --reload
After connecting, the Webmin dashboard will appear.
