- Log in to your cPanel account.
- In the Software section, click Softaculous App Installer.
- In Softaculous, open the Portal/CMS category and select OctoberCMS.
- Click Install.
- Under Software Setup, configure the installation:
- Choose Protocol: Select the protocol to use for your site.
- Choose Domain: Select the domain where OctoberCMS will be installed.
- In Directory: Enter a directory name to install OctoberCMS in a subdirectory, such as
example.com/directory. Leave this blank to install it at the domain’s root.
- Under Site Settings, set the admin folder. You can leave the default value if you do not need to change it.
- Under Admin Account, enter an admin username, a strong password, your first and last name, and your email address. For security, do not use “Administrator” or “Admin” as the username.
- Save the admin username and password securely; you will need them to access the OctoberCMS admin area.
- Review Advanced Options. Leave the defaults unless you want to change the database name or configure automated backups. Backups can use disk space.
- Scroll to the bottom of the page and click Install.
