A certificate signing request (CSR) is needed when you request an SSL certificate from a certificate provider. You can also generate one for a self-signed certificate.

  1. Log in to your cPanel account.
  2. In the Security section, click SSL/TLS.
  3. Under Certificate Signing Request, click Generate, View or Delete CSR.
  4. Enter the requested details:
    • Domains: Enter the domain name for the certificate, such as www.example.com.
    • City and State: Enter your city and state or region.
    • Country: Select your country.
    • Company and Company Division: Enter your organization and division, if applicable.
    • Email: Enter a valid email address.
    • Passphrase: Enter a passphrase if required. The form may limit its length and accepted characters.
  5. Click Generate. Copy and save the CSR securely; you will need it when ordering or reissuing an SSL certificate.
