Create or Delete a Directory Using FileZilla

Use FileZilla to create or delete directories on your website.

1. Open FileZilla and enter your FTP host, username, and password. You can use your cPanel username and password if FTP access is configured for them. In the Host field, enter your domain name, such as ftp.example.com or example.com, then click Quickconnect.

2. In the Remote site panel, open public_html or the directory where you want to create the new directory.

3. Right-click an empty area in the remote file list below the Filename column, then select Create directory.

4. Enter a name for the directory, such as images, and confirm.

5. The new directory appears in the remote file list. Double-click it to open it.

Delete a directory

1. In the Remote site panel, right-click the directory you want to remove.

2. Select Delete, then confirm the deletion when prompted.

Deleting a directory also removes its contents. Use this method only when you are sure you no longer need the directory and its files.
