- Log in to your cPanel account.
- In the Software section, click Softaculous App Installer.
- In Softaculous, open the Forums category on the left and select PunBB.
- Click Install.
- Under Software Setup, choose the protocol and domain for the installation. If you want PunBB in a subdirectory, enter its name in In Directory (for example,
forum). Leave this field blank to install it at the domain's root. - Under Site Settings, enter a forum name and description.
- Under Admin Account, set an administrator username, a strong password, and an email address. Avoid using a generic username such as
adminoradministrator. - Save your administrator login details securely; you will need them to access the forum's admin area.
- Leave Advanced Options at their defaults unless you want to change the database name or configure automated backups. Backups may use additional disk space.
- Scroll to the bottom of the page and click Install.
