- Log in to your cPanel account.
- Under Software, click Softaculous App Installer.
- In Softaculous, find the Forums category in the left-hand menu and select Phorum.
- Click Install.
- Under Software Setup, choose the protocol and domain for the installation. To install Phorum in a subdirectory, enter its name in In Directory (for example,
forum). Leave this field blank to install it at the domain's root. - Under Site Settings, enter a site name and description for your forum.
- Under Admin Account, enter an administrator username, a strong password, and your email address. Avoid common usernames such as “Administrator” or “Admin.” Save these login details securely; you will need them to access the Phorum administration area.
- Review Advanced Options. Leave the defaults unless you want to change the database name or configure automated backups. Backups use disk space.
- Scroll to the bottom of the page and click Install.
