- Log in to SiteWorx. For example, open
www.example.com:2443/siteworx/and enter your login details. - In SiteWorx, open Hosting Features if it is not already expanded.
- Click Softaculous.
- In Softaculous, find the Forums category in the left-hand menu, then select SMF.
- Click Install.
- Complete the Software Setup fields:
- Choose Protocol: Select the protocol you want to use.
- Choose Domain: Select the domain for the installation.
- In Directory: Enter a directory name, such as
forums, to install atexample.com/forums. Leave this blank to install at the domain’s root.
- Under Board Settings, enter the forum name, the board email address, and your preference for displaying a visual verification image, if that option is available.
- Under Admin Account, enter an administrator username, a strong password, your name, and email address. Avoid common usernames such as
adminoradministrator. - Save the administrator username and password securely; you will need them to sign in to the SMF administration area.
- Under Choose Language, select the forum’s default language. English is the default.
- Leave Advanced Options unchanged unless you need to modify the database settings or backup options. Review the backup settings before enabling automated backups, as backup files use disk space.
- Scroll to the bottom of the page and click Install.
