- Log in to your cPanel account.
- In the Software section, click Softaculous.
- In Softaculous, find the Blogs category in the left-hand menu, then select OpenBlog.
- Click Install.
- Under Software Setup, configure the installation:
- Choose Protocol: Select the protocol you want to use. You can leave the default selection if it is appropriate for your site.
- Choose Domain: Select the domain for the installation. If you have only one domain, leave the default selection.
- In Directory: Enter a directory name to install OpenBlog in a subdirectory, such as
example.com/directory. Leave this blank to install it at the domain's root.
- Under Site Settings, enter your site name and description.
- Under Admin Account, set the admin username, a strong password, your name, and your email address. Avoid common usernames such as
adminoradministrator.
Save the username and password securely; you will need them to access the OpenBlog admin area. - Review Advanced Options. These can usually be left at their defaults. Change the database name or backup settings only if needed; backups use disk space.
- Scroll to the bottom of the page and click Install.
