  1. Log in to your cPanel account.
  2. In the Software section, click Softaculous.
  3. In Softaculous, find the Blogs category in the left-hand menu, then select OpenBlog.
  4. Click Install.
  5. Under Software Setup, configure the installation:
    • Choose Protocol: Select the protocol you want to use. You can leave the default selection if it is appropriate for your site.
    • Choose Domain: Select the domain for the installation. If you have only one domain, leave the default selection.
    • In Directory: Enter a directory name to install OpenBlog in a subdirectory, such as example.com/directory. Leave this blank to install it at the domain's root.
  6. Under Site Settings, enter your site name and description.
  7. Under Admin Account, set the admin username, a strong password, your name, and your email address. Avoid common usernames such as admin or administrator.

Save the username and password securely; you will need them to access the OpenBlog admin area.
  8. Review Advanced Options. These can usually be left at their defaults. Change the database name or backup settings only if needed; backups use disk space.
  9. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click Install.
