How to Install Movable Type with Softaculous in cPanel

16,275 genuine article views Blog
  1. Log in to your cPanel account.
  2. In the Software section, click Softaculous App Installer.
  3. In Softaculous, open the Blogs category and select Movable Type.
  4. Click Install.
  5. Under Software Setup, choose the protocol and domain for the installation. If you do not have multiple domains, keep the default domain. To install Movable Type in a subdirectory, enter its name in In Directory; leave this field blank to install it at the domain’s document root. Leave Web Directory unchanged unless you need a different setting.
  6. Under Site Settings, enter a site name and description.
  7. Under Admin Account, enter an administrator username, a strong password, your first and last name, and your email address. Avoid predictable usernames such as “admin” or “administrator.” Save the login details; you will need them to access the Movable Type administration area.
  8. Leave Advanced Options at their defaults unless you want to change the database name or configure automated backups. Backups use disk space, so account for that when configuring them.
  9. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click Install.
