- Log in to your cPanel account.
- In the Software section, click Softaculous App Installer.
- In Softaculous, open the Blogs category and select Movable Type.
- Click Install.
- Under Software Setup, choose the protocol and domain for the installation. If you do not have multiple domains, keep the default domain. To install Movable Type in a subdirectory, enter its name in In Directory; leave this field blank to install it at the domain’s document root. Leave Web Directory unchanged unless you need a different setting.
- Under Site Settings, enter a site name and description.
- Under Admin Account, enter an administrator username, a strong password, your first and last name, and your email address. Avoid predictable usernames such as “admin” or “administrator.” Save the login details; you will need them to access the Movable Type administration area.
- Leave Advanced Options at their defaults unless you want to change the database name or configure automated backups. Backups use disk space, so account for that when configuring them.
- Scroll to the bottom of the page and click Install.
